How To Commission a Painting
Family Portrait, Loved One, Pets Or Maybe Your Pet With
The Family
Here are some simple steps
to get you started with your commissioned painting of your pet companion(s), wildlife,
yourself, family or friends.
- You will need to gather
several photographs of the subject(s). If more than one subject will be
in the
painting, they don't need to pose together. I can work from separate
photos and combine them into one
painting. Clear and close up photos result in a better likeness of the
subject.
- Decide on a size you want for
the painting.
- Choose whether you want your
painting to be vertical (tall & narrow on the wall) or horizonal
(wide and narrow
on your wall).
- Pick a color scheme you may
desire.
- Decide if you prefer your
subject indoors or outdoors.

- I accept
Visa and Mastercard. If you wish, you may pay by
check.
- I'll go through a list of questions on what makes your
subjects unique (color of eyes, color and style of hair, particular
poses and stances, certain situations, favorite activities) these all
help me to portray personality, physical appearance and inner spirit.
- Acrylic is the medium I use for most of my paintings. I
work on permanent archival canvas (acid free so the
painting will last for hundreds of years). If you wish to have a
painting done with a different medium or support, we can discuss this.
- If you wish, I'll design a quick sketch of what the general
appearance of the painting will look like. Then I'll send it to you via
email attachment or postal service for your approval before beginning
the painting.
Otherwise, I'll just start the painting.
- Upon completion of the painting, a photograph or computer
image of the painting will be sent to you via
postal service or e-mail attachment for approval. Minor changes may be
made to insure subjects likeness.
- How soon you can have your painting depends on the time of
year. From November through Christmas, it is very busy and I work on a
first come basis. The rest of the year, after receiving your
photographs, I typically turn
around a painting in 2-3 weeks + shipping time depending on the number
of subjects, size and background.
- It is possible to have your painting framed and ready to
display. I charge 10% above my cost plus any additional
shipping costs for providing this service to my clients. There are a
wide variety of colors and styles to choose
from or I can select for you.
- The size and number of subjects determines the price of
your portraits. For
your convenience all prices include standard shipping and handling
within the continental United States. You would be responsible for the
extra shipping costs other than what is considered standard such as
overnight.

additional.

TESTIMONIAL
My wife loves the Redtailed Hawk", so I searched the internet for a painting
to give her as a surprise gift. In searching I came upon Connie Rings website and found the most beautiful painting I
had seen. It was of a redtailed hawk in flight and was as true to life that it made you want to just step
into the picture. Although it was already sold I contacted Connie who agreed to paint one similar in oil
for me. It was a delight to work with Connie and my wife loved the painting.

TESTIMONIAL
Dear Connie, I was so surprised and pleased to get my birthday gift of Gretta's painting.
She is such a "little Darling" and you have captured her spirit so well. Each detail is so specific to her character. I am
grateful and sincerely appreciative of all the efforts that has gone into bringing this painting into our home both by you
and by Betty.
Sincerely,
Bill Poundstone

TESTIMONIAL
Connie, your paintings add so much
to my home and office! Since I work from home, it's a challenge to keep
a professional look in my office. I've received many compliments on
your work, the office pieces are always noticed, and are often
conversation starters. Mostly I just like the way my home feels with
your art in it -- you put so much love into your work! Thanks again,
Jan Channel, Project Manager Kettley's Finanicial Planning

Are you interested in a style other than realistic? I can help you out like I did Teri with the early Picasso style painting for her husband for their anniversary.
TESTIMONIAL
The painting Connie did for us was an
abstract of our unusual looking dog, a Carolina (aka American
Dingo). Connie was great to work with, very tolerant of my
wanting the painting to be "just so," working with me until we were
both satisfied. The result is great - it brings a smile to
everyone who sees it, as it captures the essence of our Dixi Dingo.
